Part-time Scholarship Question

by Candy 3. June 2010 17:07

Question from Josh:

"I saw online that the school offers a part-time program.  Could I receive a scholarship if I was a part time student?"

Yes, PhoenixLaw offers Merit Based Scholarships for part-time students. Merit Scholarships are awarded at the time of acceptance to our program. No additional scholarship application is needed. Your admission to PhoenixLaw and Merit Scholarship eligibility is based on your application as a whole. We consider your LSAT score, cumulative undergraduate GPA, personal statement, letters of recommendation, and resume. The Merit Scholarship helps to decrease your tuition costs and is renewable with a minimum law school GPA requirement.

Some private scholarships (not provided by PhoenxLaw) can be located via the internet, be weary if any scholarship offer requests that you send money to them, it is not reputable. A few trusted scholarship searches are:

2010 PSL Commencement Ceremony

by Candy 21. May 2010 23:11

"Do not go where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and leave a trail” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Last weekend, PSL students walked across the Phoenix Convention Center stage, accepted their diplomas from Dean Clark, and came off the stage with the initials J.D. after their names. I feel very proud as a part of the admissions team that helped our recent graduates recognize their potential and make their dreams of attending law school a reality. It has been a pleasure watching them grow and represent PSL with pride, professionalism, and passion. In 2007, these same graduates were just 1Ls, eager to start law school. Now, they all have that same eager look in their eyes as they turn to the next chapter in their lives: legal practice. I am confident that PSL has prepared them to join the legal community and blaze their own trails.

Here is a link to a speech from our SBA President given during the Commencement Ceremony on May 15, 2010 that I found both humorous and moving. Enjoy. ”

Introduction

by Candy 30. April 2010 19:56

I started working in the law school admissions field in 2006 at Phoenix School of Law in Phoenix, Arizona. PhoenixLaw offers both full-time and part-time programs. I started as the Admissions Representative in February 2006 and worked my way up to Assistant Director of Admissions (my current title) and started law school August 2009.  I am scheduled to graduate with my J.D. in December 2012.

As a current part-time evening student, I have a unique perspective on the law school admissions process and would like to share it with you.

Please email me questions and I will answer them in future posts.
