Tom Horne addresses legal education and public service

Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Horne is the next speaker in the Phoenix School of Law “Access to Justice” speaker series. Superintendent Horne’s topic will be “Reflections of a Recovering Lawyer: Thoughts on Legal Education, Public Education, and Public Service.” The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. Attendees may be eligible for CLE credit.

WHO: Tom Horne was elected Arizona State Superintendent of Public Instruction in 2002, and re-elected in 2006. Horne served in the Arizona legislature from 1996-2000, chaired the Academic Accountability Committee and served as vice-chair of the Education Committee. He brings 24 years of school board experience, and held the position of president of the Paradise valley USD board for ten years. He has written extensively on education issues, raising academic standards, character education, and student discipline.

WHAT: Access to Justice is the premier speaker series of the Phoenix School of Law. It features prominent speakers from diverse fields addressing issues and current topics of interest.

WHEN: Wednesday March 19, 2008 at 5 p.m.

WHERE: The Central Avenue Campus of Phoenix School of Law, 4041 North Central Avenue.
